Energy Yoga takes Yoga poses to an enhanced experience by adding touch to one or more acupressure points along the body's energy meridian systems that are accessible while in specific poses.
Yoga and the 12 Energy Meridians incorporates yoga poses for our 12 main Organ systems in the body.
This coupling of Aruvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine presents two powerful complementary ways to keep a healthy flow of energy to the organs and tissues throughout the body.
There are over 10,000 acupressure points in our body and 365 of them can be accessed just underneath the tissues of our skin, usually up against the sulcus of a bone.
These are the touch points that you can access to create energetic flow and release resistance in your body. We usually feel stuck energy as pain, stiffness, and anger, sadness, grief, etc. Emotions can affect the function of our Organ systems and the emotion itself alerts which system of energy is out of balance.
Touching acupoints can also stimulate flow and restore balance and harmony, which we feel as ease, joy, contentment, wisdom, peace, and happiness.
As you strive to be in balance and harmony, you will feel better in your body.

A system of energy begins just under the level of the skin, goes deep within the muscles, tendons and ligaments along the meridian channels, and eventually stimulates the energetic nature of the Organ itself.
For example, to support the Liver system of energy I show you a yoga pose and add in touching specific points of energy along that system of energy to support the Liver and its functions. While in a seated position with legs crisscrossed, sitting straight, take your hands and placed them over each foot to cradle the well in between the big toe and second toe where it meets the foot - this acupoint is Liver 3, and is the orchestra leader of our energy systems. Stimulation on Liver 3, the Source point of energy for the Liver system, will stimulate and wake up the entire meridian system and either empty what is full (stuck energy) or fill what is empty (energy deficiency).
This one practice can be used to affect the energy flow throughout the entire Liver meridian channel and to the Liver itself.
As we help one system of energy, we help the whole system. Just as the arms and legs work together when we wallk, all the divine intelligence that orchestrates our well being supports every cell in our body.
Energy Yoga is a great practice to minimize stiffness and pain while increasing flexibility and energy flow in the entire body for enhanced wellbeing.
This can be achieved in active yang yoga as well as the gentle long-held poses of Yin yoga and is a wonderful energy healing therapy anyone can achieve.
Yin yoga postures stretch your body's connective tissue such as fascia, tendons and ligaments and gently tug to open joint spaces. This practice helps to unwind tension, improve circulation and create deep relaxation in the body.
